Thread of Gold Beads Virtual Book Tour

About The Book

Amelia, daughter of the last independent King of Danhomè, King Gbèhanzin, is the apple of her father’s eye, loved beyond measure by her mother, and overprotected by her siblings. She searches for her place within the palace amidst conspirators and traitors to the Kingdom. Just when Amelia begins to feel at home in her role as a Princess, a well-kept secret shatters the perfect life she knows. Someone else within the palace also knows and does everything to bring the secret to light. A struggle between good and evil ensues causing Amelia to leave all that she knows and loves. She must flee Danhomè with her brother, to south-western Nigeria. In a faraway land, she finds the love of a new family and God. The well-kept secret thought to have been dead and buried, resurrects with the flash of a thread of gold beads. Amelia must fight for her life and what is left of her soul.

Set during the French-Dahomey war of the late 1890s in Benin Republic and early 1900s in Abeokuta and Lagos, South-Western Nigeria, Thread of Gold Beads is a delicate love story, and coming of age tale of a young girl. It clearly depicts the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversities

HISTORICAL FACTS ABOUT “SWEETEST DAY”

On October 8, 1921, the first Sweetest Day originated in Cleveland, Ohio which launched a movement throughout the candy industry to rank Sweetest Day with the nationally accepted Mother's Day, Father's Day, and St. Valentine's Day.

Sweetest Day is a holiday primarily celebrated in the states of Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan, and to these Midwesterners, it is more sacred than Saint Valentine’s Day itself. This romantic holiday is celebrated on the third Saturday in the month of October.

Below are some of our current and upcoming titles:

Sweetest Desires
Sweetest Day Ever
Sweetest Day of All
One Sweet Christmas
Made Just for You
Sweetest Moment
Sea of Passion
Rising Tide
Sweet as Candy
Sweetest Home Coming

Author, Beverly Taylor, writes charming, passionate, tenderness, vintage romance at its finest, h Heroines are feisty and fierce, while the heroes are strong and steadfast. But in the end, love conquers all. A Sweetest Day Romance novels are poignant and engaging.

A Secret Worth Keeping by Lakisha Johnson

Shelby is a career woman turned housewife who enjoys the friendships that have been built with her 5 best friends; Camille, Lynesha, Raylin, Kerri and Chloe. They are all career women with different businesses or careers, husbands and even children but something is missing, something they can’t find at home, in a store or even in a book. So, they search for this missing piece in the beds, arms, cars, offices and even in storage rooms of other men who don’t mind paying for what Dem Dam Divas can offer. They enjoy the thrill of sneaking, creeping and even vacationing on someone else’s dime but what happens when it all becomes too much? From being found guilty with no evidence, secretly wanting someone who doesn’t want you, loving only to not be loved back, caught up in a dream that you’re about to be awaken from; will it be worth it in the end? Will their secret lives be revealed and will it become too much to handle? Will they regret their actions or stand by them? Will they finally question whether this secret is really worth keeping?

Get to know Lakisha:

1. Who is Lakisha Johnson?

I am a 36 year old young lady, who is married with 2 children. I am the product of a large crazy family and I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. I am always on the go but I find time to write and read, which are 2 hobbies I love.

2. What made you want to become an author?

Writing or becoming an author isn’t something I set out to do but it is something that I’ve now found, I am destined to do. Writing is a passion and a gift that God has blessed me with and because of that it has become something greater than I could have ever imagined which is why I can now call myself an author.

3. Is this your first book and do you see yourself writing anymore?

No, this isn’t my first book but it is my first published book. My first book is a self-published book that is entitled, “Doses of Devotion” and it’s simply a book of encouragement. Yes, I do see myself writing many more books because this is only the beginning for me.

 4. Why did you choose to write a fiction after a devotional?

It was actually a spur of the moment thing. I was sitting at home one night looking at some recent pictures from a sleepover with my sisters and aunt and this idea popped in my head. So, I grabbed my computer and began writing and it was fairly easy because I took some of the personality traits from my sisters, aunt and friends and the words just begin to flow.

5. Why did you choose the name, “A Secret Worth Keeping?”

I chose this title because everyone is always eager to hear a secret. I know it may be hard to believe but if you want to grab anyone’s attention; call, text or email them and tell them you have a secret to share and they will drop everything to hear it.

 6. Is this book based on real life events?

No, everything that is in this book is my imagination. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am sure there are a lot of women who can relate, who have probably been in one of these situations or know someone who has but no, this isn’t based on real life.

 7. What do you want your readers to get out of this book?

That a secret can bring complete chaos in any situation so choose your secrets or even the secrets you want to keep wisely because at any given time, they can blow up in your face.

FEATURED AUTHOR: Quanie Miller

Quanie Miller grew up in New Iberia, Louisiana. She fell in love with reading at an early age and spent most of her time at the Iberia Parish Library discovering new authors like R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike (she was often found walking back home from the library with a stack of books that went up to her chin). She holds degrees from Louisiana State University and San Jose State University. She has been the recipient of the James Phelan Literary Award, the Louis King Thore Scholarship, the BEA Student Scriptwriting Award, and the Vicki Hudson Emerging Writing Prize. She loves writing humorous stories about strong willed, sassy women who can’t keep themselves out of trouble. She lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband and is currently, as always, working on another novel. To find out more about Quanie and her works in progress visit quanietalkswriting.com.

Jazzy secretly wants to get back together with her ex-boyfriend, Curtis, so when he calls and reveals that he’s got something important to tell her, she’s got no idea that he’s about to propose—to her first cousin and bitter rival, Mercedes.

The annual family dinner is coming up, and fearing that she will spend the evening seething while Mercedes flaunts her four carat engagement ring in her face, Jazzy asks Reggie, an Adonis she met at the mall, to accompany her. As fate would have it, not only did Reggie and Mercedes used to date; that backstabbing, leopard print wearing cow is still carrying a torch for him! Revenge.

It’s never been so sweet.

But falling for Reggie? Holy crap! That wasn’t part of the plan! She’s got enough on her plate as it is; restaurant shootouts, a neurotic boss, a mother who spies on the neighbors, and a sister and best friend with man problems that could land them on Jerry Springer. Who has time to fall in love? So when Curtis comes sniffing around again—this time, with an accusation that sends her blood pressure shooting through the roof—the one good nerve that Jazzy’s got left has just about run its course.

I Don't Know Virtual Book Tour, Dealing with Sexual Abuse with Yvette Allen Tatum

About The Book

“I Didn't Know" is for more than just an audience of one. If you look to your left, look to your right, or directly in the mirror, you will see or know someone who has been sexually abused... even if you look in the mirror, and the person is YOU! More than the tragedy of sexual abuse is the tragedy of the silence of sexual abuse. It must be talked about. Our stories have to be shared; someone's life is literally depending upon YOU to BREAK THE IGNORANCE OF SILENCE! "I Didn't Know" brings to the forefront the many hidden faces of child sexual abuse. The author, Yvette L. Allen-Tatum, shares not only her story, but the compelling testimonies of others--everyone from the actual victim, to the offender, to those who standby by in disbelief and allow these heinous crimes against our children to continue. Our voices have to be heard, our children must be free or freed to tell the TRUTH: that someone touched them. Who can they run to? Will it be you?

About The Author

Author, Teacher, Conference Host, Public Speaker, Encourager, Motivator, Ordained & licensed Minister of The Gospel, Radical for Christ, undercover Comedian and the list goes on...

Yvette is a graduate of Grace Christian College where she earned her Masters of Divinity and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. She is also a graduate of University of Richmond, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance and a Minor in Leadership Studies. In addition, she has 30 plus years of experience in income tax preparation and bookkeeping.

As the Founder of Surrounded by Faith Ministries, Yvette has had the opportunity to touch and transform the lives of many women with the Word of God. This mighty Woman of God has a prophetic teaching anointing which has enabled her to cross many boundaries. As such, the Call of God on her life has broadened from transforming the lives of women to transforming LIVES with the Word of God. While she still holds a passion to train and equip women in the life study and application of the Bible, her ultimate goal is to strengthen families. To do so her platform is geared to men, women and children.

From The Author

I Didn't Know - Identifying, Confronting & Overcoming Child Sexual Abuse - the title is indicative of the subject matter. In this book the author brings to the forefront the many faces of child sexual abuse; those of the victims and the abusers. Yvette Allen-Tatum boldly confronts her past of child sexual abuse to demonstrate that TRUE deliverance is possible. Yvette believes that we ALL (victims, abusers, enablers, nay-sayers, etc.) can OVERCOME the horrible effects of child sexual abuse.

This book proves that true healing is possible and necessary for us to become more than CONQUERORS through Christ Jesus. As a community, we have to:

 Identify Child Sexual Abuse –
o We have to talk about it (raise public awareness)
o Know the signs & symptoms
 Confront Child Sexual Abuse –
o Error on the side of caution – THE CHILD
o Be quick to BELIEVE the victim and make all necessary inquiries
o Studies show people are more apt to believe the innocence of the accused; this has to END
 Overcome Child Sexual Abuse –
o We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the WORD of OUR TESTIMONY

FEATURED PUBLISHER: Delphine Publications

Why did you start your publishing house?

I launched my company at the age of 21 when I discovered the art of self-publishing. I had no desires on waiting for a company to say they wanted to publish me so instead I decided to publish myself. It was several months later that I brought on two other authors and it stayed that way for three years until I began to build onto the company.

What is your publishing house's mission?

I like to always stress that we publish stories that reflect who we are or someone we know. My goal is to continue to do that and entertain at the same thing.
