O. Ajamu Jumal is a griot historian and educator who makes his home in Southern California. As an educator, Mr. Jumal has coordinated and taught in Headstart programs; taught elementary, middle and high school classes and lectured (African Civilizations) at colleges.
Mr. Jumal attended University of California at Berkeley, Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State San Bernardino, and Pasadena City College. He received his Bachelors Degree in History and his Masters Degree in Education Administration.
Along with writing, Mr. Jumal enjoys jazz, track and field, chess, storytelling, and travel-which includes extensive stays in Europe, East and West Africa, and continuing visits to Mexico, Brazil, Belize and the Caribbean Islands.
