I'd like to welcome you to our second Online Book Fair.
I'm sure you're wondering when was the first one. Way back in 2004 we had our first book fair. It was a huge success however, the site I hosted it on no longer exists, so I kind of put the book fair on the back burner. Fast forward to now, I wondered what I could do this year since I wasn't hosting the online conference and the book fair popped back up.
I love, love book fairs, but I can't go to as many as I would like, so I decided to bring one to us. We have some fantastic authors participating this year with some great discussions panels. I hope you take a moment to participate in the discussions.
Our featured books are wonderful and just a click away from you owning them for yourself. Remember to support our authors, we want them to be writing for many more years.
Today is an author panel. Feel free to make comments or ask the author those questions that have been on your mind forever. They will stop in through out the day to answer questions.
If you have any problems or questions feel free to contact me at sormag@yahoo.com.
I will be online all day, so I hope to see you on the net too.
Enjoy the Online Book Fair.

What a great idea, we never have bookfairs in Jacksonville and I am never in NewJersey when they have the Harlem Book Fair
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to attend the Harlem Book Fair, but haven't made it yet. I use to watch it on book t.v. Which gave me the idea of the online one.
ReplyDeleteI've never had an opportunity to attend a book fair and I live the idea of an online book fair. I get the chance to talk with other readers and authors.

Ladysilver - Do you know about the Faith and Fiction Retreat? It's in Ponte Verde Beach Florida this year, right outside of Jacksonville. Lots of great authors attending like Victoria Christopher Murray, Reshonda Tate Billingsley, Stacy Hawkins Adams and at least twenty more. There is also a special Saturday only option for locals. http://www.faithandfictionretreat.com
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed a great idea. Chicago always has something going on in the literary world, but my travel schedule hardly ever allows me time to participate. When I am able to attend bookfairs and other events, I go crazy and buy, buy and buy...and of course, I bring my favorites books to have signed by authors. It is also great to talk to other readers as well. Thanks LaShaunda, and congrats on bringing the online bookfair back.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tiffany, Rhonda and Shantal for attending the book fair today.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you next week when we continue the fair.
