It's Our Anniversary - 10 years of promoting books

10 years ago while on maternity leave with my second child I created the first issue of SORMAG – Shades Of Romance Magazine. I never dreamed it would survive one year less known 10 years. I count it all a blessing from God.


At the time I wanted something on the level of Romantic Times, but I didn’t have RT budget to produce a glossy magazine. I did a lot of research about the latest fade, online magazines and saw the online magazine is where I wanted to be. I eventually moved to the real magazines but I missed the less stress of producing an online magazine. In 2005, I returned back online this time using the blog concept. I loved the blog because I was able to interact more with our readers. I think it is where the magazine will stay.


Over the years we’ve changed a lot, and one of the changes I made was the cover author. Doing the magazine on the blog it was kind of hard to feature one person; however I believe I’ve come up with a way to feature our cover author again and also get a chance to do something I miss, live interviews. In October we will bring the cover author back and hopefully it will be a feature you enjoy.


I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support over the years. I’ve enjoyed meeting all the new authors featured in the magazine. They have inspired me as I too walk the journey of publication.


I’ve made new friends because of SORMAG and I treasure those relationships.


I tell you it has been a wonderful adventure each day with SORMAG and I look forward to the many years to come. Yes I said many years because now I see that I will do the magazine until the Lord tells me it is time to stop. I pray you continue to support us and I promise to continue to introduce you to the hottest books on the shelves and help you as you make your way to publication.
