EXCERPT OF What’s a Good Time for a Live Event? By Sharon
Lucas
• First,
you must establish a presence and make it easy for the public to find you.
Purchase your name as a domain name (yourfullname.com). Develop a website
and/or a blog. Always include a headshot, a brief bio, your email address, and
links to your Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram pages. It is extremely
important that you keep your information updated.
• Then you should
generate interest by networking.
• Attend as many literary events as you can in your area –
library programs, festivals, brunches, conferences, etc. to meet readers. It’s
not necessary for you to vend at every event you attend. It’s okay to be part
of the audience to get a feel for whether or not the event is suited to you and
your needs before you make an investment.
