2. Why do you choose to buy your books this way?
I always try the stores first, If I can't find them I order them.

3. Do bookstores cater to the reader? Not in my opinion because they make it so hard to find what you are looking for. you have to search the whole store.

4. Do you attend booksigning? Why
I have. I enjoy meeting the authors and other readers that enjoy the same books that I do.

5. How do you think bookstores can draw more readers?
Holding more book signings, offer discounts, encourage people to start local book clubs and then allow them to hold those bookclub meetings in the store when possible.

1. Amazon, online (used), major booksellars

2. Going online is always easier. That way I know it's in stock and can browse easily.

3. Some do. Those that have search stations are really good. I like the freedome to find my own books vs. asking a sales associate for help. And, of course, online.

4. Sometimes. It depends on who the author and/or subject is. I go to maybe 1 or 2 per year.

5. Well, major bookstores should be bringing in major authors. Here is Kansas City, it's the smaller booksellar who brings in the great authors. Book clubs might be another good way to draw more readers.

1. Online, mostly, sometimes Walmart when I am looking for a fast read and Barnes and Nobles, get gift cards
2. convenience
3. Bookstores cater to mass readers, eclectic or niche readers have a harder time
4. I attend booksignings..love meeting authors, though I will leave if the line is around the corner...
5. The bookstores here in Jacksonville do pretty well...

2. Why do you choose to buy your books this way?

Convenience, and an iffy, irregular selection at the local Borders. Wal-Mart purchases are usually impulsive.

3. Do bookstores cater to the reader?

Not near Gurnee, Illinois, they don't!

4. Do you attend booksigning? Why

I'm about 50 miles north of the South Side of Chicago, which is the closest a book signing is likely to be. As an author, I don't do them often anymore, either.

5. How do you think bookstores can draw more readers?

Carry more books, and get series books in every month, rather than occasionally.
