Author Spotlight - Kim Robinson
"A true love was born when my grandmother
told me that someone should write her life story in 1993. Who would have
thought it would be me? Now six novels later I am still writing."
Kim
Robinson was raised in Los Angeles, California. Her first book "The
Roux in the Gumbo" is a historical novel. It explores the adventures of
her family in Lake Charles, Louisiana. You share their experiences from
the 1800's to the 20th century through slavery, reconstruction and the
prohibition eras.
Her next book "Street Life to Housewife" is a
generational sequel that revisits the characters that you grew to love
in "The Roux in the Gumbo". Kim also has 2 cookbooks available on
Kindle, "Food For The Soul - Recipes from around the World" and "Sweet
Satisfaction - Desserts and Drinks".
"My newest book is very
exciting, as it is the first totally fiction book for me. The Civil
Right to Love is about a Black woman who is attracted to a White man in
the 1940's in California when interracial relationships were taboo."
She
resides in Texas with her husband and children. When I am not writing, I
am reading or watching movies. I am currently taking a script writing
course in hopes of bringing my work to the screen. I am a motivational
speaker, seamstress and sewing instructor. Visit me at
